TeamSnap Sports Platform Scores Record Growth
Sports teams and organizations are using sophisticated digital platforms such as those from TeamSnap to stay connected.
TeamSnap, developer of online and mobile apps used for sports organization operation, management and communication activities, reports it has increased its total number of customers by 33 per cent, compared to the previous year, and that it is on track to pass 15 million users in 2017.
It registered more than one million sports teams in 2016, an increase of 44 per cent over 2015. TeamSnap for Clubs & Leagues finished the year with close to 3,000 associations, including a new partnership with The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball Clubs (ALPB).
Active customers in those organizations are said to interact with their team, group or club some 40 times per month using the TeamSnap app.
The digital platform has increasingly become part of the Canadian scene, too, and it now tallies some three million users here. Key Canadian markets – Calgary, Toronto and Vancouver – have been ranked as the biggest per capita users of the platform globally.
“It is wonderful to see TeamSnap resonate with so many coaches, managers, parents, players and administrators around the world,” said Chief Growth Officer Ken McDonald. “It has been a busy and productive year, and we are glad to have made a positive difference in the lives of our customers. We look forward to another banner year in 2017.”
Being connected with so many sports teams and clubs brings the company some unique insights into what’s trending and what’s popular in the sports world. For example, the fastest-growing sport on the platform in 2016, achieving an astounding 7,000 per cent increase in one year, was Pool and Billiards.
TeamSnap also noted other highlights it achieved in 2016, including CEO David DuPont being named Innovator of the Year at the BizWest IQ Awards along with the company being named to Outside Magazine’s Top Places to Work for the second consecutive year.
